We have been in the moving business for about 22 years. Our start came from United Van lines
where we prepared furniture and loaded and unloaded household goods after awhile we were
recommended to Mayflower, Allied and Other independent local moving companies.
Over the years we have meet and networked with many other professional movers also working for
the big five. As a group of professional movers we began realize that the big five was charging
thousands of dollars and paying us doing a large portion only a small potion of it.
As we worked for multiple different moving companies we also came to the understanding that it is
not so much what truck the furniture is transported in but how it is handled, prepped and loaded,
and that was being done by us getting the smallest piece of the pie. We started with referrals from
family and friends of the people we had help move who wanted to save money by renting a rental
truck and use us to load and unload.
Around the same time people overall came to the same realization that the cost of moving was a bit
"pricey at best" and that they were paying to much for a name on a truck.
Thus the self-service moving industry was born.
As more and more people started moving themselves to get a fair price they also realized there
was no point in moving your own furniture and trying to get a fair price if you are just going to have to
replace / repair the furniture you move, and that the proper preparation of there belongings, and the
proper loading/unloading was the crucial part, and that is where the moving labor for hire industry
was born.
We are not the originators of any of this.
We then started getting calls from companies that supply moving labor only or locals who put ads
in the classifieds and would use day laborers giving this new budding industry a bad name with
damage and poor representation.
